Giuseppe Galli was born in Vercelli in 1866, and studied at the Albertina Academy in Turin with Carlo Felice Biscarra. He began his career working mainly in watercolour, where he demonstrated strong technical ability.
Galli became known for his genre scenes, portraits of women, 18th-century subjects, refined interiors, still life, and landscapes. In 1917, he was named an honorary member of the Academy of Brera for his mastery of watercolour. The Municipality of Milan also acquired one of his works, Eighteenth-century frivolity, for the Modern Art Gallery.
He spent his later years in Milan, where he died in 1953.
